aerial costuming workshop
When: Saturday June 29th 10 am- 12 pm
Where: Madison, WI
This workshop is intended to give everyone all the tools needed to make your own custom stretch costumes. Topics include: how to operate sewing machines and sergers, how to design patterns, how to cut and pin patterns, how to work with embellishment and appliques, and how to finish garments and work with stretch fabrics. We will be drafting patterns, starting with basic stretch patterns and going over techniques to adapt and alter for every body and all occasions. We will also discuss design planning and the steps to creating costumes from fabric purchase to finishing. Workshop topics will be directed by student need and input-see Registration Form below.
Students are invited to bring current costume projects or tools they would like more help learning. Bring your own machine or use the ones provided. You will leave this workshop with your own custom pattern and a start on a new project. The registration form below has a place to add any special topics you are personally interested in, so we can address any troubles you’ve encountered in past costume adventures and tailor the workshop to student interest.
