Tween/Teen Aerial SIlks

Mondays 4-5 pm at Madison Circus Space.

This 4 week session is for tween/teen students interested in aerial arts.  This class is for ages 10-15, all levels and abilities are welcomed.  Students will begin learning fundamental postures of aerial silks; including climbs, locks, holds, and transitions, to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts.  Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training.

Aerial silks Continuing introduction

Mondays 5-6 pm at Madison Circus Space.

This 4 week session is an Introduction class and all levels and abilities are welcomed.  Students will begin learning fundamental postures of aerial silks; including climbs, locks, holds, and transitions, to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts.  Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training.

Mondays 6-7 pm at Madison Circus Space.

This 4 week session is for continuing students (6-18 months silks experience). Students will begin learning fundamental postures of aerial silks; including climbs, locks, holds, and transitions, to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts.  Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training and time to build aerial vocabulary exploring poses and variations, transitions, and aerial silks choreography/sequencing.

Aerial Silks Intermediate

Tuesdays 5-6 pm at Madison Circus Space.

This 4 week session for continuing intermediate students, 2 or more years experience.  Students will continue strengthening fundamental postures and developing intermediate postures of aerial silks; including climbs, locks, holds, drops, and transitions, to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts.  Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training and time to build aerial vocabulary exploring poses and variations, transitions, and aerial silks choreography/sequencing.

Aerial Silks FUndamentals 2

Tuesdays 6-7 pm at Madison Circus Space.

This 4 week session is for continuing students, 1-2 years experience.  Students will continue learning fundamental postures of aerial silks; including climbs, locks, holds, and transitions, to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts.  Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training and time to build aerial vocabulary exploring poses and variations, transitions, and aerial silks choreography/sequencing.

Lyra Fundamentals “Baby Weird Lyra”

Tuesdays 7.30-8.30 pm at Madison Circus Space.

This 4 week session is for continuing students.  We’ll learn fundamental postures along with transitions to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts. Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training and time to work on new shapes, spins, and Lyra choreography. So named for the unique approach to sequencing and encouragement of expressiveness through movement, this weird lyra class will delight the aerial dancer looking to try something new.

Intermediate Lyra “Weird Lyra”

Wednesdays 1-2 pm at Madison Circus Space.

This 4 week session is for continuing lyra students and experienced aerialists. We’ll learn fundamental and intermediate level postures along with transitions to safely build a strong foundation in aerial arts.  Class will focus will be on sequencing and choreographing longer phrases.  Each class will include strength and flexibility exercises specific to aerial training and time to work on new shapes, spins, and Lyra choreography. So named for the unique approach to sequencing and encouragement of expressiveness through movement, this weird lyra class will delight the aerial dancer looking to try something new. This class is designed for those with previous aerial dance experience and assumes students are able invert in the air and can hang by hands for 30 seconds.

Dance Trapeze Introduction

Sundays 11-1 pm at Cycropia Aerial Dance.

This 12 week Introductory workshop is designed for any one interested in starting aerial dance. No experience needed. This workshop is taught on single point dance trapeze and designed to introduce students to aerial dance and the feeling of flight.

Dance Trapeze Continuing

Sundays 1-3 pm at Cycropia Aerial Dance.

Ongoing Dance Trapeze and other aerial dance topics and apparatus, varies weekly. Open to enrolled Cycropia Flyers. These ongoing classes are part of Cycropia Aerial Dance’s student program and offer students opportunity to continue to develop and grow as aerial dancers. Apparatus and focus of class change each week.
